While here in the UK we have women who like to date toyboys over in the USA and Canada they focus on the women and they call them ‘cougars’… In fact the twist in the states is that the women are encouraged to really prowl onto the guys.
Well that’s what happens at the Cougar Convention where the women compete to be crowned ‘Cougar of the year’ they are expected to go amongst the guys in the crowd and win their affections in order for the guys too vote for them. Certainly a novel way of getting people meeting and chatting! It’s proved so popular that the organisers had to turn people away at the door.
Toyboy partys are becoming increasingly popular on this side of the Atlantic with the average turnout at about 150 people. The prize for winning Miss Cougar USA a free holiday to Jamaica and also a cruise holiday which is themed as a – you guessed it, a ‘couger cruise’..
While sounding very different to the UK scene – infact there are a lot of similarities in the UK’s age gap dating game, perhaps not so brash and in your face, but there’s certainly plenty of fun to be had for both older women and their toyboys. Perhaps not Cougar Cruises though…
Toyboy Connection will be launching in the states very soon so it will be interesting to see how things progress and if they finally get used to using the word toyboy..
